Stage 2 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

Get started with convenient illness testing

The Mesa County Public Health Clinic can test adults and children ages 5+ for:

  • COVID-19
  • Flu (Type A and B)
  • RSV
  • Strep

COVID-19, flu, and RSV testing

  • With a single nasal swab, we can test for Influenza A and B, COVID-19, and RSV.
  • Cost $150, insurance may cover some of the cost.

Strep testing

  • Rapid strep testing available using a throat swab.
  • Cost $50, insurance may cover some of the cost.
  • Patients can receive a prescription to treat a positive strep test.

How can you make an appointment?

Clinic hours for testing

  • We have flexible scheduling available for testing Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Or you can walk in without an appointment Monday - Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m.

 

Results 

  • We process the test on site. Results available in approximately 24 hours. You will receive a phone call from our staff. 

Insurance

  • Patients should bring their insurance card with them to the appointment in order to bill their insurance. You can still receive the testing without insurance.
