Food Safety Alert: Cottage cheese recalled due to health risk
Saputo Cheese USA is recalling certain Great Value cottage cheese products. The products are being recalled due to the possibility of liquid dairy ingredients not being fully pasteurized. The products were distributed to Walmart stores nationwide and may have been sold in Mesa County. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection to these products.

- Great Value Lowfat Small Curd Cottage Cheese – 2% Milkfat, 24 oz. container, BEST IF USED BY APR-01-26, APR-02-26, and APR-03-26
- Great Value Small Curd Cottage Cheese – 4% Milkfat Minimum, 16 oz. container, BEST IF USED BY APR-02-26
- Great Value Small Curd Cottage Cheese – 4% Milkfat Minimum, 24oz. container, BEST IF USED BY APR-02-26 and APR-03-26
- Great Value Small Curd Cottage Cheese – 4% Milkfat Minimum, 3 lb. container, BEST IF USED BY APR-01-26 and APR-02-26

What consumers should do
- Consumers should check refrigerators for the recalled products and throw them out or return to the place of purchase.

Under-pasteurized dairy exposure description
- Pasteurization destroys harmful bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria.
- Unpasteurized dairy products may cause severe foodborne illness, which can lead to diarrhea, vomiting, and fever.
- Those who are pregnant, children, or immunocompromised are especially vulnerable.
